Here's another subtle reverse-witnessing topic:
by neat blue dog inthe next time a jw brings up a natural disaster or severe weather event as proof of the last days, and they preface it by reciting a fact they heard on the news like, (just for the sake of example) 'it's the worst earthquake in 70 years' or 'the worst plague in 200' years', (you get the picture), then simply reply: "oh, so that means that ____ years ago there was one that was worse, right?".
i did this twice.
both times got the same response:.

The real predators are those in high positions including the GB who deep down know TTATT but spin events deceptively for their flock. Most R&F JWs I wouldn't say are trying to prey on others, so much as they're desperately in search of confirmation for their world-view.

Funny occurrences
by Freedom rocks inwhat were some funny experiences you had of things that happened during talks at the meetings?.
a few of mine:.
- a brother had dyed his hair before his talk and it was raining heavily when he arrived at the hall and the dye was running down his face during his talk and his skin went more and more grey as the black dye ran down it.

This man Steve was giving a talk about Jesus gaining immortality, but said he got "immorality" in the heavens.
Another guy named Tony compared the dead at Armageddon to split open roasted hot dogs, and another time preached against wild socks and tight pants, saying they were a gay conspiracy.
Then there was a dude named Sam who insisted that women were objectively less intelligent than men, and he could prove it by the size of their brains.
Then there was old Joe who nobody liked but everybody feared. He insisted that some Bible characters were bound to show up on the doorstep any week now, but nobody had the balls to call him out.

Wish I could read the captions. The website downsamples all images, often to the point of illegibility, on mobile screens. (Yes, even when 'show desktop version' is activated.)

Are All Baptized Witnesses Still Considered Ministers?
by minimus inor is that old light??.
many young men avoided the draft due to their being “ministers”.
if everyone who is a jw is a minister, women and kids should share ministerial status and even be able to legally officiate and marry someone....as long as they are baptized..

No draft in the US for over 40 years, not sure about elsewhere.

No, just the Elders. They are officially recognized as clergy, and JW lawyers have said so under oath in court.

Solzhenitsyn:
Oh Happy day! You're doing great, going slow and steady, letting her reach conclusions when she's ready and saying just enough to catalyst her thinking but not too much.
Vannderhoven7:

Apostates? No holds barred.
by neat blue dog inin the new jwdotorg article about anger:.
get the facts.
“the insight of a man certainly slows down his anger,” says proverbs 19:11. we are wise to gather all the facts before forming a conclusion.

In the new JWdotORG article about anger:
Get the facts. “The insight of a man certainly slows down his anger,” says Proverbs 19:11. We are wise to gather all the facts before forming a conclusion. When we carefully listen to all sides of a matter, we are less likely to feel unjustified anger.—James 1:19.
Except when it comes to those labeled "apostates", which incidentally isn't even a Christian term, appearing nowhere in the New Testament. Aparently this is one area where you don't need to know the other side of the story, just what Mother GB tells you.
Another scripture that JWs apparently have a waiver on when it comes to ex-JWs is 1 Peter 3:15, which mentions being
ready to make a defense before everyone who demands of you a reason for the hope you have
Apostates are just mentally diseased anyway and are dangerous, (i.e. a typical JW is undereducated and ill equipped to defend their beliefs outside their 'safe spaces' of the Hall and door to door where they can run away if need be).

What immodest clothing have you got in trouble for wearing?
by Addison0998 ini personally have a very distinct sense of style and fashion which many of the fellow jdubs frown upon.
recently, i was told by a few specially self righteous ones that i looked like a prostitute in a pair of white boots!
a pair of 3 inch heeled, just a little taller than the ankle boots, with skirt that came down to my knees and a black long sleeve shirt that came up to my collarbone.

I was told that I would need to change my dress pants and suit jacket as a matching two-piece suit was mandatory for stage assignments. I just laughed and said, "I don't have one of those." He said, 'Oh, well, okay' and never mentioned it again. Same thing happened with my handlebar mustache with soul patch, told I couldn't have privileges in the congregation while I had it. I said "Show me the scripture and I'll see what I can do" and got the same response. No 'privileges' taken away, never mentioned again. I was mentally in at the time, but I don't think I'd push that envelope nowadays, I just want to stay under the radar for the most part, not give 'cause for stumbling' if it isn't necessary, save it for the important stuff.
